WordPress Portsmouth Online Meetup -20th May 2020 – Lightning Talks

Join the WordPress Portsmouth Meetup on 20th May 2020 for a series of Lightning Talks given by WordUp Pompey! members.

The event starts at 7pm BST (6pm UTC). We will be providing a Zoom link for you to connect to the online Meetup.

Please register to attend this virtual event so that we can send you the link.

Assuming the speakers can connect using Zoom, we have a couple in the pipeline.

  • Database Backups and the MySQL Command line – Paul Tansom
  • Audacity – James Williams

The rest will be selected from the attendees.
A suggested topic is “My Favourite plugin / theme”, but we’ll be open to anything really. Let us know what you’d like to share with us when you sign up.

Paul couldn’t connect and we didn’t hear from James, so we had 4 different lightning talks. There are 4 videos, on the wppompey channel on YouTube.

  1. My favourite plugin: Wordfence, presented by Steve Wood
  2. My favourite plugin: Query Monitor, presented by Bernhard Kau
  3. My favourite plugin: oik-bwtrace, presented by Herb Miller
  4. WordCamp Europe and Contributor Day – June 2020, presented by Bernhard Kau and Abha Thakor.
The edited version of My Favourite Plugin – Wordfence – by Steve Wood
Bernhard’s talk starts around 2:35. Q & A starts around 6:50
Herb’s talk starts at 1:00. Q & A from at 18:45. Sorry it’s a bit quiet.

All levels of experience of WordPress and website publishing welcome. We are a learning and development group. We welcome WordPress beginners.

As this is a virtual meetup attendees can come from far and wide.

Please sign-up if you intend to join the MeetUp. If you are new to the group, please can you complete your MeetUp profile to help us plan topics.
