Come to the WordPress Portsmouth Meetup on 19th February 2020 for a streamed talk, by Tony Blacker, entitled “Nightingale: How Gutenberg can save the NHS money and improve health outcomes.”
Tony will be presenting live from Ipswich.
The event starts at 7pm. There will be a social to carry on discussions and network after the meeting for any attendees who wish to go to it.

A google for site:nhs.uk +"Powered by WordPress" gives 4500+ results. Despite many people saying ‘WordPress isnt used in the NHS’, it really really is.
Completely outside of any individuals or even any individual organisations control, the NHS is around 20,000 distinct entities all under one banner. Many of them have their own IT leads, their own comms dept and their own take on what they need to do with the web. The best we can do is lead and show a better way and hope others follow.
Tony is part of an NHS team that has developed a new theme for WordPress based on an HTML/CSS library the NHS has put out. There is also a companion plugin for the content styling and layout, using Gutenberg. The project is open-sourced and welcomes contributors and involvement from the community.

Our attendees come from Hampshire and West Sussex. The venue has free parking. All levels of experience of WordPress and website publishing welcome. We are a learning and development group. We welcome WordPress beginners.
